Kleptomaniac Cat Obsessed In Stealing Men’s Underwear

A six-year-old Tonkinese cat has been shamelessly stealing men's underwear from their neighborhood. Every night, the kleptomaniac cat roams around the city of Hamilton on New Zealand's North Island to nick boxer briefs and socks.

Huffington Post reported that owner Sarah Nathan felt bad about the behavior of her cat named Brigit. She said that she would wake up every morning seeing stolen men's boxer briefs and socks dumped inside her house, which she believes were stolen by Brigit from their unlucky neighbors.

Nathan disclosed that she had already collected 11 boxer briefs and more than 50 socks in the past two months. This has prompted her to take the social media to reach out to the victims of her kleptomaniac cat to claim their belongings. She also distributed apologetic flyers in her street appealing for the owners.

"It's all men's. It's really, really weird. She's got really specific taste," Nathan told NZ Herald. She revealed that the kleptomaniac cat had been also stealing things in their previous house, however, it was less specific.

"She was much less discerning - now she's decided menswear is the thing - and it's a very specific kind of underpants that she likes," Nathan shared. "It's an absolute obsession. A night does not go by without her bringing things home. I got up this morning and there were another four socks in the house."

Nathan narrated that Brigit would usually leave the stolen belongings on the front and back doorstep of their house while some were stuck on the fences. She believed that her kleptomaniac cat snatched those men's underwear from the washing line.

Nathan revealed that they will soon be moving to a new house on a larger property out of the country. She is optimistic that her kleptomaniac cat would give up her thieving ways and would not victimize their future male neighbors.

But before they move, Nathan is hoping that her present neighbors would claim the men's underwear nabbed by Brigit. "I feel so bad about it - someone is spending a fortune on underwear," she stated.
