Regular Episodes of Masturbation Can Do Wonders to Your Health, Prevents Diseases

Masturbation is good for a person's health and experts are now saying that it can also prevent certain types of diseases such as cancer, diabetes and cystitis.

Two Australian academics claim that there are indeed numerous benefits of self-pleasuring as it can also help address and prevent depression, insomnia and even boost the immune system. Anthony Santella, a public health scientist at the University of Sydney and his colleague, Spring Chenoa Cooper, a senior lecturer, say self-pleasuring or masturbation can ward off a host of illnesses. They confirmed that 94 percent of men openly admitted to masturbating, as do 85 percent of women.

"For women, masturbation can help prevent cervical infections and urinary tract infections through the process of 'tenting', or the opening of the cervix that occurs as part of the arousal process. Tenting stretches the cervix, and thus the cervical mucus. This enables fluid circulation, allowing cervical fluids full of bacteria to be flushed out." The academicians add that engaging in the pleasurable act "lowers the risk of type-2 diabetes, increase pelvic floor strength through the contractions that take place during orgasm and reduce insomnia through hormonal and tension release."

Previous studies have shown that men who regularly engage in sex may have a lower risk of prostate cancer, perhaps due to the release of toxins from the prostate gland. The researchers of the study argue that masturbation can also help prevent depression due to the 'happy' endorphins produced which then gives the immune system its much needed boost. The claim, "masturbation is the most convenient method for maximizing orgasms" and people who do it regularly have "reduced stress, reduced blood pressure, increased self-esteem and reduced pain."
