Real Hoverboard: Flyboard Air Takes You 10,000 Feet Up In The Air

Are you afraid of exploding hoverboards? Here's the good news. There is a real hoverboard prototype made by inventor Franky Zapata. He tested the Flyboard Air, which propelled him up in the air, soaring over land and waters!

Meet Flyboard Air

Flyboard Air may be the next best thing that will hit the market after a wave of exploding hoverboards. Don't get excited just yet. Zapata and his team have made a prototype and are not yet in the process of making the final commercially-available hoverboard.

Yahoo mentioned that the video of the Flyboard Air's test run was posted on YouTube. The video posted Saturday gained a lot of views, and a mixture of comments.

Some YouTube commenters said that real hoverboard Flyboard Air was a fake. Others said that it was real and totally cool. There are some who said that it looks like Green Goblin straight from a Spiderman movie.

Real or Fake?

If the video of the real hoverboard was not fake, Jet skier Franky Zapata did a good job. He rode the board without any glitch and even got a smooth landing. He maneuvered the Flyboard Air without any issues.

Since Zapata and his company aren't exactly new to the Herculean task of getting humans to fly up in the air. In 2011, Zapata and company were responsible for the water jetpack. The original version of the Flyboard utilized a jet ski with a thick hose.

The new version, Flyboard Air, has no attachments and makes use of Independent Propulsion Unit. Time said that this turbine-powered flying machine may give you the ride of your life.

The Flyboard Air can have you flying for 10 minutes. It may sound short enough, but when you are cruising at top speeds of 93.2 miles per hour, and with nothing to hold on to, it may be very frightening.

So if you are looking for a horrifying and thrilling ride, this real hoverboard may be the answer. Don't keep your hopes up yet as the Flyboard Air may not hit the market this year. There is even doubt if the FAA would approve it. So is this real or fake? What do you think?
