Microsoft made a huge announcement for Windows 10's anniversary. Microsoft announced that educational features will be added on Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

The tech giant made the announcement on Thursday, April 14. According to Microsoft they will showcase additional features that would cater students and educators. Windows 10 Anniversary Update will be patterned to the needs of students and teachers that will be tackling the K-12 education platform.

"Today, Windows is the leading global platform for K-12 education," Microsoft's Terry Myerson stated. "Our enduring goal is for Windows to be the best place to learn and the best platform for teaching."

During Microsoft's announcement, the company gave out specific details as to what should be added on the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. It was cited by Thurrott that Microsoft came up with a technology that would expedite the process of installing programs and sharing data. It was also mentioned that the Windows 10 Anniversary Update will be more ideal and user-friendly as it is designed for nontech-savvy individuals.

Windows Store Focused on Education

For Windows 10 anniversary update, the Windows Store launched an app that offers educational materials. The store is ideal for teachers as they offer bulk purchase wherein teachers can automatically distribute the material to the students.

Timed Update

The Active Hour feature will give the teachers the security that their devices would not have an automatic update during class time. Teachers have it programmed and set up at a given time that would not affect their usage during class hours.

Easy Set Up

The Set Up School PCs application will give teachers a head start as they'd be able to set up Windows 10 on the school's PC making it easier to use in a shared environment. The easy set-up is ideal for teachers who do not have the luxury of time in calling for tech support.
