'Red Dead Redemption 2' News & Update: Map Leaks, New Game Confirmed To Be A Prequel

There is no doubt that Rockstar Game's "Red Dead Redemption 2" is one the most anticipated games today. In fact, despite the developers' silence, the title continues to make headlines online. New reports suggest that "Red Dead Redemption 2" is indeed a prequel to the first game.

"Red Dead Redemption 2" A Prequel

IGN reported that the upcoming title, "Red Dead Redemption 2" would be a prequel. A map rumored to be of "RDR 2" was uploaded in NeoGAF by someone claiming to have received it from a source. The post was taken down later, but the Internet was able to immortalize it.

There are still copies of the controversial "Red Dead Redemption 2" map online, although some question its legitimacy. One source confirmed to TechRadar that the map was real and was the "very recent" art direction model of "Red Dead Redemption 2."

The source also claimed that "Red Dead Redemption 2" would be set before the events of the first title. Thus, it is a prequel.

Map Details for "Red Dead Redemption 2"

The new map is located at the east of the one featured in "Red Dead Redemption." If you want to see the photo, you can check it hereThe new map shows that there will be caravan camps around the area, suggesting that it is less occupied West.

Per the report, the "Red Dead Redemption" theme was the death of West. So, it makes more sense that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be a prequel rather a sequel. According to Cultured Ventures, the alleged "Red Dead Redemption 2" map is bigger than that of "RDR." This means that there's more to explore in the upcoming title.

Another interesting item on the map was the inclusion of New Bordeaux that one can find at the bottom right. New Bordeaux is a fictional location based in New Orleans. "Mafia 3" is based on the same location, so there might be a crossover.
