Iconic Parents: Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg Rocks the World One Dream at a Time

After giving birth to their first child, Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg stepped up their charity cause one project at a time. Chan and Zuckerberg is now part of TIME magazine's "The 100 Most Influential People."

Facebook Inc. chief executive, Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan shook the world with their announcement upon the arrival of their daughter Max. The new parents announced that they will be giving away 99 percent of their Facebook shares, which is estimated to be $45 billion.

Mark and Priscilla's gesture was considered as one of the largest philanthropic acts. Upon the arrival of Maxima Chan Zuckerberg, Mark wrote an open letter discussing his charitable plans on Facebook. It was mentioned that the 99 percent share of the gigantic media company will donated to the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative as mentioned on The Verge.

According to TIME, the money will be used to inspire people in coming up with innovative inventions. It will be used to further expand their platform in improving education, medical advancement, create a better technology in terms of connecting people and their vision to create strong communities.

Prior to their major announcement, Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan already pledged and donated $25 million for further research and prohibition of the Ebola virus. his vision includes the fight against HIV and polio and providing better medical advancement in terms of dealing with such illnesses.

Aside from Mark Zuckerberg's gesture in providing advance medical solutions, his is also set in providing better education. Mark Zuckerberg donated $100 million to the Newmark public school systems with the hopes of providing better quality education.

"Many of the greatest opportunities for your generation will come from giving everyone access to the internet," Mark Zuckerberg's letter stated. "The internet is so important that for every 10 people who gain internet access, about one person is lifted out of poverty and about one new job is created."

Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan continually gains recognition for being one of the most humble parents. The new parents are being looked up to as they tend to be hands on interms of raising their first daughter, Max.
