Unfortunately, one by one, its leading stars have decided to leave the show, Nina Dobrev first and just recently, Ian Somerhalder announced that this could be his last season. To make matters worse, according to new reports, Paul Wesley is also leaving "The Vampire Diaries" series.

Paul Wesley To Leave "The Vampire Diaries" Series

Yibada reported that Paul Wesley is rumored to exit "The Vampire Diaries." Per the report, Wesley has no other choice but to leave after season 8. Ian Somerhalder already confirmed that "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 could be his last. Now, that "TVD's" big stars are leaving, there are rumors that the show will be cancelled.

"The Vampire Diaries" producer Julie Plec told E! News earlier that the fate of "TVD" does not rely on her only but to Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley as well. Is Plec hinting that the show is about to end for good?

"I finally realized that my destiny on this show, creatively, is tied in to Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley. And I mean it in a really good way. As long as those boys who I now consider my friends want to keep telling the story, then I won't walk away from telling the story," Plec told the publication.

Parent Herald previously reported that "The Vampire Diaries" is not ending after Ian Somerhalder cleared his previous announcement in a tweet, which many interpreted as the end of the series. He explained that it would be his last but not the last for the "TVD" series. Unfortunately, if the show is without Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley will it still be "The Vampire Diaries?" Will it still hit?

Nina Dobrev Will Return In "TVD" To Finish Elena's Story

Meanwhile, per Movie News Guide, Nina Dobrev will return in "The Vampire Diaries" to finish Elena's story. Other sources claim that the actress is just waiting for Somerhalder to exit, so she can return to the hit vampire series.
