'Chicago Fire' Season 4 Spoilers, News & Updates: Gabriela Dawson Asks Matthew Casey About Adopting A Child; Episode 21 Trailer Released

One of the most tragic events in NBC series "Chicago Fire" Season 4 is the death of Gabriela Dawson and Matthew Casey's unborn child. After having a miscarriage, the couple -- played by Monica Raymund and Jesse Spencer -- have rarely talked about having children. However, a new trailer released for episode 21 shows Dawson popping a big question to Casey about adopting a kid.

"I have a feeling this was meant to be," Gabriela Dawson tells Matthew Casey in an exclusive trailer for "Chicago Fire" Season 4 episode 21 from the Hollywood Reporter. The characters are talking about becoming foster parents to a child they rescued from an apartment fire.

"Chicago Fire" Season 4 episode 21 is appropriately titled "Kind Of A Crazy Idea," Design & Trend reports. Gabriela Dawson will get attached to the rescued child and she tells Dawson that she cannot stop thinking about adopting the boy. If they go through with this plan, it will be a step in the right direction for the grieving couple.

Episode 21 of "Chicago Fire" Season 4 will also show Lt. Severide -- played by Taylor Kinney -- facing challenges in proposing an upgrade for Firehouse 51's fire masks. Matthew Casey will be the one to help Lt. Severide get the fire mask upgrades by pulling some political strings.

"Also in episode 21, Cruz (Joe Minoso) and a reluctant Brett (Kara Killmer) will bring in a secret weapon so as to get Otis (Yuri Sardarov) to see Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and take a blood test," Design & Trend shares. Things are getting more intense for "Chicago Fire" Season 4 -- which airs on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. -- as we head to the last few episodes of the latest season of the NBC series.
