'Supergirl' Season 2 News & Updates: Why The Show Hasn't Been Renewed Yet; Going To The CW With 'Arrow' & 'The Flash' A Good Move?

When "Supergirl" debuted to 13 million viewers in November 2015, many fans and analysts believed that a second season is all but guaranteed. So why hasn't CBS announced a "Supergirl" season 2 yet?

The reason why we have not heard anything official about "Supergirl" Season 2 is because of its viewer drop. "Supergirl" Season 1 quickly lost a lot of viewers and settled between six to seven million viewers per episode, Cinema Blend reports.

However, there have been plenty of reports about "Supergirl" Season 2 moving to The CW network. The CW is home to other popular DC shows such as "The Flash" and "Arrow."

One of the things that are worrying "Supergirl" fans is the significant budget cut that will inevitably happen if The CW handles "Supergirl" Season 2. Many fans think that the reduction in budget will make the show's effects less frequent and worse in quality for every episode.

However, one only needs to look at "The Flash" and see that a lower budget is not a hindrance to a great superhero show. "Supergirl" Season 1, which had a much bigger budget in CBS, has poorer reviews from both critics and superhero fans compared with "The Flash."

The fact that "Supergirl" Season 2 on The CW will mean more guest stars from the cast of "Arrow" and "The Flash" can make the show even more exciting for fans. When The Flash character guest starred in one episode of "Supergirl" Season 1, the ratings for the CBS show had a 30 percent increase, TV Line reports. Whatever CBS and Warner Brothers decide upon, an official announcement about "Supergirl" season 2 is just around the corner.

Should "Supergirl" Season 2 stay with CBS or move to The CW with "The Flash" and "Arrow?" Share your opinion in the comments section below.
