"Limitless" Season 2 is unlikely to happen on CBS, reports Deadline. According to the publication, things are not looking good for the sci-fi drama.

The publication notes that CBS has already permitted writers of "Code Black" and "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders" to come up with if/come deals. However, CBS has not done the same with "Limitless," which only goes to show that the freshman series is likely to get canceled.

The publication adds that "Limitless" Season 2 is "being shopped" to other networks. Several fans have already raised petitions in various sites in hopes of seeing Brian Finch's story continue whether in CBS or in another network such as Netflix.

In an earlier interview with executive producer Craig Sweeny, it was revealed that the showrunner already had some plans in mind should "Limitless" Season 2 take place, reports Cinema Blend. Sweeny shared that Brian would most likely be leaving the FBI now that the secret about the AZT drug has been revealed.

"I think that unless something were to change fairly drastically, there would be no place for him there," said Sweeny. "His utility to them is as somebody who can take NZT without the harmful side effects."

Sweeny added that there will be changes in "Limitless" Season 2. However, there will still be a couple of things that will remain in the story, such as Brian working with Rebecca and Boyle while taking the NZT.
