Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder Reunion: Nikki Reed Bans Husband From Reuniting With Ex-Girlfriend On ‘The Vampire Diaries?’

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder are expected to have their short but sweet "Delena" reunion on "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. However, a recent report claims that this reunion may not happen because Nikki Reed is banning her husband from reuniting with his ex-girlfriend.

A lot of fans have been excitedly anticipating the reunion between Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev on "The Vampire Diaries" since the latter announced her departure after Season 6. It was revealed that the 27-year-old is expected to reprise her role as Elena Gilbert in the CW series once the show is on its series finale.

"TVD" Season 8 is rumored to be the series finale because of the show's continuous drop in ratings. Kat Graham and Somerhalder have also announced their departure in the show following the upcoming season.

Unreality TV reports that the CW has not yet reached a decision about the future of "The Vampire Diaries" on air. This means that Season 8 may or may not be the series finale.

"No decision has been made one way or the other. My dream is it isn't [the final season]," said The CW president Mark Pedowitz.

While it still remains to be seen whether "The Vampire Diaries" will get cancelled after Season 8, talks of Dobrev and Somerhalder's possible reunion are allegedly making Nikki Reed nervous. According to Inquisitr, there is a possibility that Reed will ban her 37-year-old husband from reuniting with his ex-girlfriend.

The publication notes that Reed may be the one who stopped Somerhalder from attending the 2015 Teen Choice Award. Somerhalder was supposed to attend the event with Dobrev to receive their award for Best Kiss.

Reed and Somerhalder, however, continue to post romantic photos of themselves on their respective social media accounts. This can be taken as a hint that Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed's marriage are in no way threatened by Nina Dobrev's possible return on "The Vampire Diaries."
