"The Vampire Diaries" spinoff, "The Originals" is making its own waves on the small screens. "The Originals" Season 3 finale gave fans enough thrill and excitement to anticipate the new season. According to reports, "The Originals" Season 4 will have a major time jump. Did this excite you?

'The Originals' Season 4 Will Have A Time Jump

The last season of "The Originals" ended with Hayley and Hope carting the Mikaelsons out of New Orleans to escape Marcel. The "The Originals" family is helpless after Marcel took over them. However, according to Yibada, Hayley and her daughter with Klaus, Hope will be the Mikaelsons saviors in "The Originals" Season 4.

However, Hope is still a baby and it needs time for her power to develop and be in full use. Thus, there needs to be a time jump in "The Originals" Season 4. This is what "The Originals" executive producer Michael Narducci admitted in a recent interview.

"It's almost mandatory that there be some sort of time jump. This is a definitive loss on the part of the Mikaelsons," he told TV Line about having a time jump in "The Originals" Season 4. He hinted that Hayley and Marcel are going to start from scratch in the new season. It's not going to be easy, but the fun would be how the characters will get out in their current predicament.

On a separate note, much is expected from baby Hope. Parent Herald previously reported that Hayley and Klaus' daughter has a potent power. However, it is difficult to say what she can exactly do. Given the time jump, many believe that "The Originals" Season 4 will feature a much older Hope, whom Hayley can work with to save the Mikaelsons.

What Else To Expect In 'The Originals' Season 4?

Per Inquisitr, Marcel will soon figure out that the Mikaelsons are not really dead. Marcel will learn that Elijah's line of vampires won't drop dead, which makes him think twice about "The Originals" fate. He will eventually learn that Elijah is still alive and perhaps Kol or Freya too.

"There are a lot of rich, interesting things to play with moving forward," Narducci said. " But the question is: Is this family permanently destroyed, and is Marcel going to be their enemy forever?"
