'Half-Life 3' Release Date, News & Update: Fake Twitter Account Confirms Sequel; Release Date Remains Unknown

There is no doubt that many are waiting for the next iteration of "Half Life." It is already a decade since we hear about "Half Life 2" and fans have moved on to "Half Life 3." Due to the intense enthusiasm towards "Half Life 3," a troll takes advantage and spread the news that "Half Life 3" is confirmed.

Fake Gabe Newell Confirms 'Half Life 3'

According to Segment Next, a fake Gabe Newell account confirmed "Half Life 3." The announcement stirred the "Half Life" community who has been waiting for the confirmation of the title. Initially, it convinced many because the post was from Gabe Newell, co-found of "Half Life."

Per the report, the poser changed his name and started making a number of alternate accounts to spread the misleading message that "Half Life 3" is confirmed. Unfortunately, the account was fake and the post was bogus.

According to the report, the said account was already deleted. Fans who believed in the announcement about "Half Life 3" were devastated after learning that it was fake.

'Half Life 3' Still Unconfirmed

Valve never confirmed the development of "Half Life 3." Parent Herald previously reported about Newell denying the game. Also, in an interview a few years ago, Newell teases about "Half Life 3" but later denied it. Per the Atlantic, Newell teased in 2007 that they are working on "Half Life 3." After two years he has no update other than they are still working on episode 3.

In 2011, it seemed that their plans had changed, "I got nothing to say about Half-Life," he said. In 2013, he denied the game again when Jonathan Ross asked him about the sequel, "I don't know this man at all."
