Prince Death News & Updates: Singer's Death Linked to Fentanyl Overdose

Two weeks after the death of the music legend Prince, the  medical examiner's office released a statement pointing out the main reason of his death. It was discovered that Prince died because of fentanyl overdose.

The synthetic opiate is widely popular among the elites in the United States. According to Huffington Post, fentanyl is 80 times more potent that morphine and hundred times more potent that heroine.

Before it was pointed out as to what the main cause was, it was just noted that Prince died of overdose, and it took them further investigation to pinpoint the exact substance that lead to the singer's death.

It was previously reported that the law enforcement official who took Prince's case originally declared that he died of opioid overdose. The Associated Press was first to report on the issue and highlighted that it preserved the informant's identity as he was not authorized to disclose any information he'd acquire to the media.

NPR gave light as to what fentanyl is capable of doing to the human anatomy. As per the National Institute on Drug Abuse fentanyl, is also used in the medical field. It can be used as a prescription drug, while some use it for recreational purposes, which is illegal.

Prince is one of the high profiled individuals who suffered the consequence of drug overdose. As the access to illegal drugs turned bit lax compared to the previous years, it is important for parents, especially the ones with adolescents to remain vigilant.
