Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick recently hinted that the company's video game development firm Rockstar Games will have a huge presence at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 in Los Angeles this week. That's why, many diehard "Red Dead Redemption" fans believed and were hopeful that there's a great possibility for a "Red Dead Redemption 2" E3 2016 reveal.

Unfortunately, fans were left disappointed when they did not see the unveiling of "Red Dead Redemption 2" during the Sony E3 2016 live conference. No news, updates or any details were also revealed on a "Red Dead Redemption" HD remake or anything related to Rockstar Games' highly anticipated open-world, western action-adventure game, Daily Express reports.

Why 'Red Dead Redemption 2' Was A No Show At E3 2016

Due to the disappointment of fans, Game Riot published a YouTube video titled, "Red Dead Redemption 2 - SONY REVEAL CANCELLED AT THE LAST MINUTE." In the video that was published on Jun. 14, the narrator explained why the "Red Dead Redemption 2" E3 2016 gameplay trailer reveal was cancelled at the last minute.

Based on the caption of the video, an industry insider claimed that the cancellation of the "Red Dead Redemption 2" reveal was due to the recent Orlando shooting event. Thus, Sony decided to put "Days Gone" gameplay instead of "Red Dead Redemption 2."

"Red Dead Redemption 2 E3 2016 Reveal Gameplay Trailer got cancelled at the last minute according to a massive Industry insider," Game Riot's video caption read. "Due to recent event in Orlando - Sony cancelled the reveal and put Days Gone gameplay up instead. Very late call."

'Red Dead Redemption 2' Release Date Still Uncertain

Despite several rumors and apparent leaks, the 2017 release date for "Red Dead Redemption 2" or a "Red Dead Redemption" remaster remains uncertain, unconfirmed and unofficial. According to MobiPicker, Rockstar Games seems unready for an "RDR 2" reveal but Take-Two promises that the game developer will be launching "exciting future projects" soon.

New Content Listing On Rockstar Games Website Hints 'Red Dead Redemption 2' Possibility

In spite of a no-show at the E3 2016 event, avid "Red Dead Redemption fans" are still hopeful that "Red Dead Redemption 2" is currently under development. In fact, many fans went gaga when they noticed a new content listing on Rockstar's website, revealing the titles of the game series including "Red Dead Redemption," "Red Dead Revolver," and "Red Dead Undead Nightmare," SegmentNext notes.
