It's already a given fact that many "Jeepers Creepers" fans have been patiently waiting for the upcoming sequel of Victor Salva's horror franchise. Unfortunately, "Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral" has also been plagued with nasty controversies and rumors, including Salva's pedophilia past and the lack of financial resources to take the project off the ground.

There Is Hope For 'Jeepers Creepers 3'

Fortunately, the possibility of a "Jeepers Creepers 3" movie seemed not hopeless after all. In fact, a recent Twitter post hinted that may be happening soon. The tweet was also accompanied by what appeared like a movie poster for "Jeepers Creepers 3."

No Cancellation Plans For 'Jeepers Creepers' 3

The tweet came more than two months after movie producer Stan Spry reassured fans that "Jeepers Creeper 3" has not been cancelled, instead it was delayed because producers are still looking for ways to secure a "domestic distribution deal" for the sequel. It was also revealed that "Jeepers Creepers 3" cancellation is not on the horizon since a working title and a movie poster were already released, as per Movie Pilot. "It is not cancelled," Spry posted on Twitter. "Producers are working on the domestic distribution deal."

'Jeepers Creepers 2' Production Already Underway

In addition, an IMDb user Rorimor also hinted that "Jeepers Creepers 3" production was underway, mentioning the highly anticipated "Cathedral" sequel already has a funding, as well as a writer and director. Unfortunately, the production was slowed down, even though some scenes have already been shot.

The IMDb user also claimed "Jeepers Creepers 3" production staff is contemplating to launch a casting call outside Canada and fly them to Vancouver. However, the user's claims remain as mere speculations since no confirmations have been announced yet, as previously reported.

Victor Salva's Pedophilia Past

Despite the constant clamoring of the fans for a "Jeepers Creepers" sequel, "Jeepers Creepers 3" also made headlines when the pedophilia past of movie franchise mastermind Victor Salva resurfaced. According to EconoTimes, the sequel's casting calls in Canada were taken down after the Union of British Columbia Performers issued a warning about Salva's child molestation conviction history.

The controversial "Jeepers Creepers 3" casting call was reportedly for the role of Addison, a 13-year-old girl who escapes his abusive stepfather to live with her granny. The said role was to be played by an 18-year-old actor, Independent reveals.

Meanwhile, "Jeepers Creepers 3," which will follow the 23-day hunting and feeding frenzy of the winged mythical cornfield creature known as The Creeper," will reportedly hit the theaters sometime in 2017. However, no exact release date schedule has been announced or confirmed as of late.
