"Maura's great gift is her giant brain," Nash told TV Guide. "What does it mean to this character if in fact she can't use it fully? Is she defined by her ability to know everything? [She's] asking questions that we all ask ourselves. We all make decisions in our lives. It's 'I made a choice at a moment in time for very good reasons, but is that choice still relevant to me?'"
