Michael Schumacher News: F1 Legend ‘Reacting’ To Treatment; Expert Warns About Uncertain Recovery

Michael Schumacher latest condition remains hidden from the public, as the F1 legend was transferred to his home in Lake Geneva. The latest update regarding his condition reveals that the 47-year-old Formula One driver is "reacting" to treatment.

Details about Formula One champ Michael Schumacher's health condition are still being kept from the public after the racer woke up from his coma and was transferred to his home in Lake Geneva. However, a statement from his former boss, Luca Di Montezemolo revealed that Schumacher is responding to treatment, reports Express.

"I'm very pleased to know that he is reacting," he said. "I know how strong he is. I'm sure that thanks to his determination, which will be crucial, he will come out from this very, very difficult situation."

It remains unclear, however, what Di Montezemolo meant by "reacting." Schumacher's family, friends and supporters remain optimistic that the F1 Legend will be able to make it through this feat because of his strong personality.

FIA president Jean Todt said that Schumacher's personality as a driver definitely reflects in his current condition. According to Todt, Schumacher was always determined to win every race he participates in and this time, his determination will greatly help him succeed.

Meanwhile, Ecumenical News notes that neurological and spinal surgeon Dr. Peter Hamlyn recently explained the reality of sports and brain injuries. According to Dr. Hamlyn, not all patients who suffered from head injuries are able to completely recover.

Dr. Hamlyn also said that recovery from such kinds of accidents will also bring some form of emotional trauma to the families. Dr. Hamlyn noted that survival will be the focus in the first couple of months while quality of survival will be questioned in the weeks and months to come.

Michael Schumacher's wife, Corinna, on the other hand, remains optimistic that her husband will be able to recover from his injuries. The Formula One racer's doctor, Dr. Jean Francois Payen, shared in a statement that Corinna has "exceptional willpower" and does everything to help her husband recover.
