'The Elder Scrolls 6' News & Update: Argonia Happening But 'TES 6' Development Pushed Back For 2020 Release? New Bethesda Game May Be 'Skyrim 2?'

Update on "The Elder Scrolls 6" at E3 2016 by Bethesda Game Studios executive producer Todd Howard has been clarified to indicate Argonia development is yet to be scheduled. Given "TES 6" development push back, the sequel to "Skyrim" is looking more likely to launch in 2020.

Games Radar reports that Bethesda PR and Marketing Vice President Pete Hines supported Todd Howard in stating development for "The Elder Scrolls 6" is definitely happening. However, Peter Hines also clarified that development is yet to begin for the new "The Elder Scrolls" offering.

PC Gamer cites misunderstanding over the announcement by Todd Howard on "The Elder Scrolls 6" development progress. Whereas Todd Howard stated that "TES 6" is happening and that the Bethesda boss did not say development is already happening behind the scenes.

"We think very long-term. We're not a developer that's going to rush something like this out," Digital Spy cites Todd Howard. "When you think about what is the future of that kind of game, we have a pretty good idea of what that's going to be, and it's just going to take technology and time we don't necessarily have right now."

Digital Spy also reports that no matter the push in schedule, Bethesda has been looking to hire a new Quest Designer presumably for a new "The Elder Scrolls 6" involvement. The job posting reportedly required experience on The Elder Scrolls Construction set.

The media outlet further reports that Argonia as the new map for "The Elder Scrolls 6" is not a foregone conclusion. Some believe that "The Elder Scrolls 6" will instead be "Skyrim 2" although "TES 6" in Morrowind or in Redwood also have as strong a buzz

Digital Spy, however, says Argonia still is the strongest contender for "The Elder Scrolls 6." The release of "TES 6" by Bethesda is most strongly projected for now by 2020.
