Dangers of Children In Cars: Harmful Incidents That Your Kids Face In Your Car And You Don't Even Recognize

Kids in the US are in great danger when they are left unattended inside or outside the car. If your parenting is bad, your kid will most likely be killed in, out, or under your car.

According to statistics presented by Kids and Cars Organization, there were 165 fatal non-traffic incidents in the US in 2015. These include heatstroke, underage driving, power window, frontovers, backovers, left-found gun, falls, carbon monoxide, and more. The statistics is dismaying because these incidents come even if the government strictly sets a law against leaving kids alone in the car.

Kids are left in situations that may end their lives. A case when they are left unattended in a hot car is one example. Heat stroke is much likely to kill your kid especially when you park the car under a hot weather. If you leave your kid inside the car under the sun, even for just 30 minutes, expect something serious when you come back.

Some people are ok with leaving the kids alone in the car to train them for being independent. But some see it as bad parenting. One incident that showed the opposite opinions of people regarding this matter is the case of the S Club 7 singer, Rachel Stevens. She was reportedly was alleged of being a negligent and irresponsible parent when she left her two daughters in the car, where one is an 18-month old baby. Stevens left the kids unattended for 10 minutes and this has flared up some netizens while some defended her. Stevens has the right to leave her children alone in the car and according to the law of child endangerment, what is unlawful is to leave the child in the car when you know he or she is not safe to be alone there.

There are times that a parent needs to leave a kid in the car. It may be safe for some parents to do that especially when they know their kids well. But it is always a safer option not to leave them alone in the car. Good parenting does not suggest you are to leave a kid in the car. There must be safety measures to consider when doing so.
