NBA Latest Trade Rumors: Nerlens Noel Heading To Los Angeles Lakers or Cleveland Cavaliers?

The latest National Basketball Association (NBA) rumor is about Nerlens Noel possibly being traded from Philadelphia 76ers to either Los Angeles Lakers or Cleveland Cavaliers.

Los Angeles Lakers eyeing Nerlens Noel After Kobe Bryant Departure

Inquisitr reported that the Los Angeles Lakers is looking for a replacement for Kobe Bryant after his retirement. Accordingly, the basketball team has been looking to rebuild the team in hopes that they will return to their spot at the Western Conference contenders.

Noel is said to become a restricted free agent in the upcoming season and that if ever the rumors are true about him joining the Los Angeles Lakers, his departure might not impact Philadelphia 76ers too much since the team has a crowded frontcourt. The team has two power forwards and three centers so if Noel will be traded, it could mean that it would be great for Philadelphia 76ers.

Accordingly, the Los Angeles Lakers want Noel because he would fit into the salary cap. However, it would be difficult to have the deal closed as they are not sure who they will send to Philadelphia 76ers.

Los Angeles Lakers Continue to Make Trades During NBA Off-Season

Earlier this month, Los Angeles Lakers said in a statement that they have struck a deal with Chicago Bulls for guard Jose Calderon. This comes after Chicago Bulls acquired Calderon after a trade with Derrick Rose.

Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak said in a statement about Calderon, "Not only is José an elite shooter, he is also an established and versatile player whose skill and professionalism will supplement the talent on our roster." Calderon is averaging 10 points per game during the entirety of his career.

Cleveland Cavaliers Also Want Nerlens Noel on Their Team

Other reports have surfaced that Cleveland Cavaliers is also looking to have Noel on their team. Noel is a Philadelphia 76ers center and Cleveland Cavaliers is still in need of a player to fill that spot.

Philadelphia 76ers president and general manager Bryan Colangelo also said that they are not trading their men in the backcourt. Coach Brett Brown also said that Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid want to play together. They did not yet comment on the possibility of Noel being traded next season.

Noel is yet to comment.
