NBA Rumors: Paul Pierce Still Undecided To Play Next Season? Derick Gordon Gives Up Basketball To Be A Firefighter

Everyone is excited for the next season of NBA. Who will return and who will leave, in what team will your favorite player be playing? While everyone is engrossed with the NBA trade off, we will examine the players you will be hanging their jersey on the next season for good.

Paul Pierce Still Undecided To Play Next Season

Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul Pierce has already played for 18 seasons in the NBA and still has two years on his contract. Pierce, 38, is already at the age where basketball players tend to retire that is why many are wondering if Pierce will return next season.

According to ESPN, most of the Clippers believe that Pierce will return in the 19th season, so he can collect that $4.6 million that is guaranteed for the next season. However, some sources claimed that the player is still undecided whether he returns or not and will be making his decision in a few weeks.

"Really, it's all about how I feel mentally, getting up, and I'm thinking about the grind," Paul Pierce said in an interview last June. This suggests that the Clipper's forward is uncertain of his basketball career for the next season.

Derrick Gordon Leaving Basketball To Be Firefighter

On the other hand, the first openly gay male basketball player, Derrick Gordon is leaving the basketball court to pursue his other passion. According to Daily Hampshire, the UMass shooting guard is already contented with his basketball career and will not shift to be a firefighter.

"It's something I thought about when I was little. I like to help people," Derrick Gordon said about his decision to change careers and be a firefighter. "I talked to my parents about it. It's the best decision for me to move on with my career."

Derrick Gordon admits that being a firefighter is different than basketball but it still needs teamwork. For him, this is a great opportunity and he is sure that he is happy with his decision.
