NFL Trade Rumors: Eagles trading for Josh Gordon?

NFL Trade rumors are making rounds! IT is now reported that the Josh Gordon will be reinstated to the NFL this year. He was earlier suspended for four games. He is supposed to start the season in 2016 after completing the suspension.

Speculations are high as to which side will take Gordon in. It is talked about that if Cleveland will keep Gordon or will they part with him. Will they trade him and get something in return? Is he considered a risk by the side?

It is still very unclear of what Josh Gordon's fate in NFL might be. However, there are sources who indicate that Josh might be available soon. This is revealed by an NFL insider. However it is really not clear as to what the Browns will do, reported Bleeding Green Nation.

"I wouldn't be surprised, as [the Eagles] looked down the landscape, if a receiver pops free ... in fact, I was trying to go through the rationale, let's say, for example, the Browns want to trade Josh Gordon," ESPN's John Clayton said. "What teams might be interested? Philly might be one of those teams that might consider it because you'd be getting a great talent cheap and he would fit the outside slot."

Here, from what he said, we can assume that Clayton was just speculating. There is no concrete information as to what the Eagles will decide.

Will Eagles Bring In Josh Gordon?

There are clear indications and rumors surrounding NFL that Eagles are trying to bring in best receivers. It was reported that Eagles showed interest in veteran Anquan Boldin before he signed with Detroit. So, there is a chance that they could lookout for Gordon, reported NFL.

Philadelphia clearly had a chance to trade for Gordon in the past. During the time, NFL was ablaze with rumors that the Browns offered Gordon in exchange for quarterback Nick Foles back in 2013. This deal was not materialized. This indicates that Chip Kelly might not ever stand for Gordon on his roster.

Eagles might face a big risk by acquiring Gordon especially if they have to give up something that is better. The value will then diminish considerably. Due to the Carson Wentz trade, Philadelphia already lacks a 2017 first round pick and a 2018 second round pick. If Eagles take the risk and make the trade happen, even a single little mistake by Gordon could be expensive for his career.

One can count on the fact that the Browns are not in a good shape as of now so they might as well keep Gordon and see how that turns out to be.

After the suspension, there is a chance that Gordon might have got a bit rusty. He had missed the entire 2015 season. However, his performance was impressive through all the first three seasons. He has accumulated 161 receptions for 2,754 yards and 14 touchdowns through 35 career games.

Overall, it does not seem that the Eagles will pitch in for Gordon. It is possible that the Browns will retain their receiver.
