'Overwatch' is Now Set for Summer Games, Launched The Summer Olympics Theme Earlier Today

The highly anticipated "Overwatch" launched by Blizzard Entertainment last May 2016 has just opened its latest update, the "Overwatch" Summer Olympics, which will end on the last day of the Rio Olympics on August 22. Players of "Overwatch" from around the world will now have the chance to pick up a loot box containing items for Summer Olympics theme.

With the seasonal loot boxes, there are more than 100 of items that can be found inside. Ranging from skins, emoticons, victory poses and icons, any of these can be earned or purchase via credits. Polygon said that the "Overwatch" Summer Olympics theme is initially available in the British Playstation Store.

The Summer Olympics theme will be ported in the U.S. Playstore after a few days. Each "Overwatch" loot box contains 2 items that can be purchased for $1.99. Players who would acquire a duplicated item may trade in exchange for a credit.

"Overwatch" players will also not miss the fun of the Summer Games. The Summer Olympics theme offer a new game mode, the Lucioball. Lucioball is a sports-style of a game, a futuristic version of soccer where the match is played by 3 players per team. The arena of the "Overwatch" Summer Games is situated in Rio de Janiero, packed with jumping pads and booster walls, giving the players the ability to glide and bounce to reach victory.

The primary attack in "Overwatch" was replaced by a melee attack to give the players the ability to dribble, pass and shoot. The Crossfade ability can also be used to pull the ball towards the player. More Summer Games will be added soon as the update progresses.

Though players cannot use the "Overwatch" in-game currency to buy the Summer Olympics theme loot boxes, players would still have the chance to acquire one with random drops. All the items can only be seen through the in-game store including muscular Zayra skin and a sprint outfit suitable for Tracer.
