NBA Trade Rumors: New York Knicks Eyeing Chris Paul If Derrick Rose Fails To Live Up To Their Expectations

The former Chicago Bulls point guard, Derrick Rose will be wearing a new jersey in the upcoming NBA season. Rose is now playing for New York Knicks, but reports have it that the team is considering Los Angeles Clippers' point guard Chris Paul if Rose fails to impress them.

According to Yibada, New York Knicks bargain three of their players, Jose Calderon, Brook Lopez and Jerian Grant just to have Derrick Rose on their roster. However, things are not guaranteed for Rose.

The report notes that if Derrick Rose fails to live up to Knicks' expectations, they can easily get him off their roster and find some other point guard to strengthen New York's grip for their next NBA title. Reports have it that Knicks is also eyeing Los Angeles Clippers' point guard Chris Paul as a potential replacement for Rose.

Will things work great for New York Knicks and Derrick Rose? Elite Sports NY doesn't think so. According to the report, Rose is the second worst new comer for the 2016-2017 season and Knicks is the third on the "Team Turmoil" list.

The report notes that New York Knicks have a lot of new faces on their roster with a new coach Jeff Hornacek. ESNY believes that it will take Derrick Rose quite some time to get along with Knicks' small forward Carmelo Anthony.

However, Derrick Rose has a strong faith with the Knicks. In fact, in an earlier interview, he likened Knicks to super team Golden State Warriors and added that there are high expectations from them. However, per Parent Herald Stephen Riley doesn't agree that Knicks is a super team just because they have Rose, Carmelo Anthony, Joakim Noah and Kristaps Porzingis.

"If this was maybe three or four years ago, even without the young Porzingis, I'd gladly call this unit a super team," Stephen Riley said. Riley explained that majority of the players are already passed their prime and not as good as how they did before. In fact, Rose was named the worst point guard in the NBA league statistically.
