The Vampire Diaries' Season 8 Spoilers: Ian Somerhalder Prefers NO Delena Moments; Nina Dobrev NOT Returning

"The Vampire Diaries" is heading to its final season. While waiting for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 many are expecting for the Delena reunion. However, it seems unlikely to find Damon and Elena on the same screen again after Ian Somerhalder turned down the said plot. In addition, Nina Dobrev is not returning to "TVD."

If you have been following the "The Vampire Diaries" series, you will probably agree that one of its strongest plots is Damon and Elena's romance. There is no doubt that "TVD" catapulted Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder to fame. Unfortunately, the pair doesn't want to give into their fans' last wish and that is seeing Delena again as the series bid goodbye for good.

"Happy endings don't happen in Mystic Falls," Somerhalder told Collider about his preferred ending for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. "The happy ending I could see is that this girl gets to live her life, never even knowing these two brothers exist."

If Ian Somerhalder's happy ending for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 doesn't involve Elena, it's not an issue with Nina Dobrev because she has no plans in joining "TVD's" final season anyway. The actress is busy with some other projects.

According to Inquisitr, Nina Dobrev already confirmed that she is not coming back for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. This is despite Julie Plec's claims that promises were made to have Dobrev back for the final set.

Parent Herald previously reported that Nina Dobrev is busy with her film with Vin Diesel. The "The Vampire Diaries" original protagonist is more focused on her upcoming action flick "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" over "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8.

As Nina Dobrev turned her back from her "The Vampire Diaries" family, she found new friends, including Vin Diesel who is now like a brother to her. In fact, the "Flatliners" star sent a sweet birthday greeting to the "Fast and Furious 8" star. "Happy Birthday, Vin. Thanks to you I will always look for the "magic" in Every. Single. Moment."

How do you feel about Ian Somerhalder preferring for a brotherly ending for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 over the Delena romance? Are you still expecting to see Nina Dobrev in the final season of "The Vampire Diaries?" Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
