'Winds of Winter' Release Date: GRRM Busy Working On 'TWOW'; Book Not Available At WorldCon But Still NOT Late, Projected Release 2017?

The "A Song of Ice And Fire" has been around for two decades already but to the surprise of many the series remains undone. At the time, many are waiting for "The Winds of Winter," complaining about its continuous delays with fears that George RR Martin might not finish the "ASOIAF" saga after all. But did you know that given George RR Martin's phase, "The Winds of Winter" could be still on time?

George RR Martin announced that it has been 20 years since "A Game of Thrones," the first book of "ASOIAF" was published. Unfortunately, until know its ending is a mystery as we wait for the final two books, "The Winds of Winter" and "A Dream of Spring."

Parent Herald previously reported that George RR Martin might release the two books together at the upcoming WorldCon. The delay was reportedly due to GRRM working for "The Winds of Winter" and "A Song of Ice and Fire" altogether.

However, according to Yibada, it is unlikely for George RR Martin to release "The Winds of Winter" during the Worldcon. The publishers announced that at the moment, "TWOW's" release date remains unknown.

Yes, we understand that many "ASOIAF" fans will be disappointed with this report but George RR Martin is reportedly working hard to finish it. "We know George is busy writing it and we will announce the publication date once he finishes. Whenever it comes, it will be a huge publishing event," the publisher said.

Meanwhile, per Christian Post, given George RR Martin's phase, "The Winds of Winter" is still not delayed. The popular author writes in an average length of around 100,000 words which is already 20 novels to most writers'. In addition, Christopher Ingraham predicted that with Martin's reputation and speed, it will take until 2017 to see "The Winds of Winter" on the book shelves.
