'Sherlock' Season 4 Latest News & Update: Final Season Confirmed To Be The Darkest Yet

"Sherlock" Season 4 could turn out to be one of the most memorable runs on the hit BBC series. It was previously rumored that this season could be the last for the show, so hearing all the current rumors about the upcoming run makes all the wait all the more nerve-wrecking.

New reports are claiming that "Sherlock" season 4 will be the darkest yet. This was eventually confirmed by showrunner Stephen Moffat.

In an interview with Collider, Moffat claimed that "Sherlock" season 4 villain Culverton Smith is the "baddest" villain fans will ever encounter. The sinister role will be played by actor Toby Jones.

"He's completely different. It's a completely different character," Moffat said about the "Sherlock" Season 4 villain. "He's the darkest villain we've had...This guy is the purest evil. Sherlock is actually appalled by him. He's the most evil villain we've had. I don't think that when you see it, you will disagree. He's horrific."

Meanwhile, previous "Sherlock" season 4 spoilers seem to be connected with Moffat's description of the upcoming run. For instance, producer Sue Vertue told Comicbook recently that she cried when she saw the script for season 4, while actress Amanda Abbington, who plays Mary Watson, claimed that audiences will most likely share the same sentiment.

In a recent interview, Moffat cleared rumors about "Sherlock" season 4 being its last. While the showrunner did not confirm or deny the rumors, he shared that he's not sure of the show's future.

"I don't know how long we can keep it going," he said as reported by Sydney Morning Herald. "I'm personally willing, but I'm hardly the main draw. Moffat then proceeded to say that he will be surprised if "Sherlock" season 4 will be the last season, but he claimed that it could be very possible.
