‘Wentworth’ Season 5 Air Date News Update: New Characters Moving In With Danielle Cormack Exit? Allie Novak To Find Love Again?

Hit Foxtel series "Wentworth" unceremoniously killed off prison top dog Bea Smith (Danielle Cormack) at Season 4 finale "Seeing Red." While the Bea Smith shocker has fans stunned to uncertainty, having repeatedly witnessed many a "fake" death treatment on TV, "Wentworth" Season 5 is definitely making room for more new characters in this prison block.

Before "Wentworth" Season 4 brought the house down with a Bea Smith death, Kaz Proctor (Tammy Macintosh) and Allie Novack (Kate Jenkinson) were among those buzzed to make an exit. However, the Foxtel hit boldly decided to deromanticize prison life and robbed "Wentworth" of its queen bee.

  This is understandable as after four seasons of "Wenworth," Bea Smith may have been lending a comfortable presence for the plot and viewers alike. What may have made Bea Smith an easy shoe-in for viewers to the top dog post is how the former "Wentworth" lead came to be in prison in the first place.

Bea Smith had been a battered wife, who ended up killing her husband after suffering a life of cruelty and abuse. But as the law is the law, Bea Smith had to be locked up for murder and the "Wentworth" series followed her journey since.

Stuff  cites Danielle Cormack in explaining that "Wentworth" Season 4 went into the psyche of Bea Smith after the last four harrowing years since she went to prison. "I think she definitely is feeling weary, she's tired and she's had time to think about her future and her future is life without parole," Danielle Cormack said of her alter ego.

The top dog spot will not be empty for long as FX News Call reports that new inmates are coming into the block at "Wentworth" Season 5. The media outlet suggests that "Wentworth" Season 5 could see more transgender inmates joining the show.

After Ellen cites an interview with Kate Jenkinson on the fallout of Bea Smith dying at "Wentworth" Season 4. According to Kate Jenkinon, the "Wentworth" series actress feels that a new love could open for Allie Novak as the story continues.
