PS4 Neo Release Date: HDR Support, PS4 Neo Exlusives Plausible?

Not a lot has been disclosed about Sony's PS4 Neo release date. Fans of the upgraded version of the PS4 are excited to know more about the new console, but information continues to be scarce online.

Tech blogs have speculated on the new console's specs and have come up with some predictions on what fans can expect when the PS4 Neo release date is all set. According to a Euro Gamer report, some expected upgrades like UHD Blu-ray drive for 4K movies, HDR support and hard drive space increase are still not yet confirmed despite getting a lot of buzz online recently.

The site mentioned that some confirmed upgrades for the new console involve a boost in the graphics department, as well as 4K native output and video support. It also continued to clarify that PS4 Neo exclusive titles have not yet been confirmed to be part of the new release just yet.

Sources are claiming that the PS4 Neo release date could be possibly be slated on October 2016. However, recent speculations suggested that a September 7, 2016 release could be highly likely. User GamingSince95 hinted on the September PS4 Neo release date in a Reddit forum.

In a separate Reddit thread, another fan speculated that the upgraded Sony console could possibly boast of improvements that will match if not outshine the XB Scorpio. Some agreed with the fan's predictions, but other fans claimed that it might be a far-fetched idea most especially if a September PS4 Neo release date is already underway.

"Don't think Sony has enough time to redo the board by Fall, considering production should start in September if a November release is a thing," user Shankovich commented. "However, they could pay more for a full chip. The Neo is pretty much using a P10 chip with (I think) 2 CU's disabled. Sony could pay AMD more for fully unlocked chips."
