Blake LIvely and Anne Hathaway Up Against 'Post-Pregnancy Slim Down Pressure"

Mothers, especially actresses and those who had a nice physique prior to pregnancy, are expected to slim down almost immediately after giving birth for a number of reasons. While this way of thinking may seem to be the norm, a lot of people disagree with it. One of the people who disagree with this is the actress Blake Lively.

Lively is regarded as one of Hollywood's most beautiful people not only due to her looks but also because of her enviable physique. However, she is now expecting her second child with husband Ryan Reynolds, resulting in her feeling pressure from a number of people to quickly regain her physique quickly after her second child is born. Reports said that Blake Lively will take a slow and steady approach to shedding her post-pregnancy pounds the second time around.

Blake Lively "claims that new mothers shouldn't be expected to slim down so soon after pregnancy, because giving birth to new life is a 'miracle'," says an article on Stuff.co.nz. "You don't need to be Victoria's Secret ready right away because you just did the most incredible miracle that life has to offer," Lively said. "I mean, you gave birth to a human being! So I would really like to see that celebrated," she added.

She joins "Les Miserables" star Anne Hathaway in combating body shaming among new mothers. The latter posted a powerful photo on the social media site Instagram with a caption reading, "There is no shame in gaining weight during pregnancy (or ever). There is no shame if it takes longer than you think it will to lose the weight (if you want to lose it at all)." More mothers should take note of this stand, as it is unhealthy and quite dangerous to shed post-pregnancy weight so quickly after giving birth.
