'Supergirl' Season 2 Spoilers, Cast & Air Date: Show Add Cast Members; 'The Flash,' 'Legends of Tomorrow' Too

"Supergirl" season 2, along with the three other DC shows on the CW, has added more cast members for the upcoming season, bringing higher stakes for the Girl of Steel. The "Supergirl' season 2 castings indicate the network's desire to capitalize on the shared universe of the four shows that are currently airing so that it would be as successful as other franchises like Marvel's own cinematic universe.

Sharon Leal, who starred on "Boston Public" in the early 2000s has been hired to portray Miss Martian on "Supergirl" season 2, Entertainment Weekly reported. Earlier, Tyler Hoechlin and Chris Wood have been cast for "Supergirl" season 2" in the roles of Superman and Mon-El.

Apart from "Supergirl" season 2's cast additions, "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 also has tapped Patrick J. Adams, Lance Henriksen, Matthew MacCaull and Sarah Grey as Hourman, Obsidian, Commander Steel and Stargirl respectively. "The Flash" season 3, on the other hand, has added "Harry Potter" star Tom Felton to its cast as Julian Dorn. While the roles have not been cast yet, it was also confirmed that the main villains for upcoming "The Flash" season 3 will be Savitar and Doctor Alchemy, Cinema Blend reported. "The Flash" season 3 will also contain an appearance of "Friday Night Lights" actor Grey Damon as the Mirror Master.

"Supergirl" season 2 will start airing on Monday, August 10, at 8 pm ET on the CW.
