NBA Trade Rumors: Kings, Nets And Timberwolves Three-Way Trade Could Land Rudy Gay To Brooklyn

Rudy Gay has always been one of the favorite picks in the NBA trade rumors. Reports are rife that Gay will be wearing a new jersey in the upcoming NBA season. At the time, it is still not final in what team Gay will be playing but some sources claim he might play for Brooklyn Nets.

According to Yibada, Sacramento Kings, Brooklyn Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves are in a three-way trade talk. During this offseason, Nets have made significant moves by signing the former Hornets point guard Jeremy Lin. However, the team still lacks a skilled veteran.

Tyler Dencker of Fansided suggests that Brooklyn Nets go after Rudy Gay. Although Gay is approaching 30, the player remains skilled and talented in his craft.

Dencker believes that Rudy Gay will add more points to Nets because he is a consistent scorer. Rudy Gay averaged 17.2 points and 6.5 rebounds in the last NBA season. He also excels at the small forward position, something that he could teach Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

Overall, Rudy Gay is expected to power up the Nets. He can provide what the team lacks.

Should Brooklyn Nets decide to acquire Rudy Gay, the team has no issues in doing so. According to reports, Brooklyn Nets has $17.7 million cap space and still have enough room to absorb Rudy Gay's remaining contract. However, the only downside with Nets is that they lack tradable assets should the Kings ask for more.

The Net and Sacramento trade talks involving Gay would be more likely to happen if they include another team. Reports have it that they consider Minnesota Timberwolves.

Sacramento Kings can send Rudy Gay to Brooklyn Nets, while the latter send their shooting guard Bojan Bogdanovic to Minnesota Timberwolves. In return, Kings will receive Timberwolves' point guard Ricky Rubio.

What do you think of these three-way trade talk? Could Brooklyn Nets possibly acquire Rudy Gay? Do you agree that Brooklyn Nets should include Minnesota Timberwolves to persuade King to Trade Gay to them? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
