NBA Trade Rumors: Cleveland Cavaliers NOT Trading Kevin Love Because Player Is One Of Their Assets?

Kevin Love is among the names that are often associated with the NBA trade rumors. However, according to sources, there is no truth to reports suggesting that Cleveland Cavaliers is trading Love in the upcoming NBA season.

According to earlier reports, Cleveland Cavaliers is trading its power forward Kevin Love. In fact, some sources claim that Cavs is in a trade talk with Philadelphia 76ers involving Love and Nerlens Noel. NBA trade rumors have been linking Noel to Cavs because LeBron James reportedly needs big men to deliver another NBA title to the team.

There are also speculations that Kevin Love could land to Boston Celtics. According to reports, Kevin Love is the odd player in Cavs. Per the reports, he is not the best running mate for LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. In fact, his performance has dropped significantly as he played alongside James in Cleveland Cavaliers.

Per the Blow Sports, during the NBA 2013-14 season, when Kevin Love was still with Minnesota Timberwolves, he averaged 36.1 points, 12.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 36.3 minutes per game. When he joined Cavs, the statistics dropped.

During Kevin Love's first year with the Cavs, he only averaged 16.4 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 33.8 minutes per game. Then, for the NBA 2015-16 season, Cavs' power forward just averaged NBA 2015-16 16.0 points, 9.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 31.5 minutes per game.

Although many NBA teams are interested in signing Kevin Love, Cavs is not parting ways with Love. According to NESN, the team is not even considering this idea even if there is no shortage of teams pursuing them to sign Love.

Kevin Love has signed a five-year contract with Cleveland Cavaliers worth $113 million last offseason. Reports have it that Love will be staying with Cavs until he hit the free agency after the NBA 2019-20 season.
