6-year-old Autistic Boy Turned the Family Garage into His 'Storage Superstore' in West Kelowna

Because of his interest in open and close signs, Ayden Geary, a 6-year-old autistic boy, turned their family garage into his "Storage Superstore" in West Kelowna. And Ayden sells almost anything.

Ayden Geary is a six-year-old boy from West Kelowna who was diagnosed with autism 3 years ago. According to his parents he was obsessed with certain things like train tracks, stop signs and street lights. Aside from him, his younger brother, Declan, also has autism.

After the firework displays in celebration of Canada day, Ayden Geary's family decided to go home. And on their way home, Ayden noticed that there were no "open" signs in most shops they've passed by at that night. Because of this, the young boy was worried. This worry led him to the idea of putting up a store of his own.The store includes check-out zone, clothing zone and a loading area for any deliveries. Presently Ayden sells bracelets, painted rocks and few Christmas ornaments.

However, according to a report in CBCNews, there's one thing that is still lacking in the store - a big banner- to market the store to customer. West Kelowna and Kelowna real Canadian granted the little boy's wish. On the Facebook post of Storage Superstore, the autistic shopkeeper expressed his gratitude: "A big thank you to the west Kelowna and Kelowna real Canadian superstore for donating the best open sign ever and the awesome store banner!"

The store had its grand opening last Saturday, August 27, 2016. It was mobbed by excited shoppers and neighbors. Now you can also shop online, just visit the Facebook site of "Storage Superstore".

Miranda Geary, Ayden's mother, said that: "It's good to embrace your child's interests as best you can." And to her situation that is the Storage Superstore, which is his child's main interest today.
