'Fuller House' Season 2 Air Date & News: Show Beats 'Stranger Things' As Most Watched On Netflix; Michelle Tanner Recasting

Despite all the love that "Stranger Things" is getting from Netflix viewers, one fact remains. The streaming site's most watched show is actually "Fuller House," which is almost ready to launch its second season in the subscription-based service in the fall.

Indie Wire reports that within the first 35 days of "Fuller House's" release on Netflix in February, the show earned 14.4 million in viewership among the 18-49 market. It further reports that "Fuller House" ranks as number one among all shows that aired during the 2015-2016 season, which means it has earned an even bigger audience than the widely popular zombie series "The Walking Dead" on cable network AMC.

Though Netflix doesn't rely on viewership numbers, but rather sticks with how their subscriber base increases, it doesn't come as a surprise that "Fuller House" has immediately received a second season order in March, per Variety. These numbers say that Netflix has a certified hit in the reboot. The A.V. Club contends that it shows "Fuller House" as the better show than "Stranger Things" and there is data to prove this.

Meanwhile, "Fuller House" is almost ready to wrap up filming its second season. Parent Herald previously reported that Season 2 might likely premiere in December. The cast have actually filmed special holiday episodes, which should make for timely viewing in the winter.

What's missing from "Fuller House" to make it an even bigger hit is in finally having Michelle Tanner visit the Fuller-Tanner house. The role was played by the Olsen twins, Mary Kate & Ashley, in the original series. But with the twins refusing to get back into acting, the youngest of the Tanner siblings continues to be a no-show.

Eventually though, "Fuller House" will have to bring Michelle in at some point and perhaps have a different actress playing her. Executives have reportedly considered Olsen sister, Elizabeth, for the part before, but the actress has also turned the offer down, per Entertainment Online.
