‘The Blacklist' Season 4 Release Date & News Update: Raymond Reddington, Liz Keen Reunion Costly? Will Donald Ressler Move In After Tom Exit?

"The Blacklist" Season 4 synopsis from NBC relates that Raymond Reddington (James Spader) and Liz Keen (Megan Boone) reunion will be costly especially for Red. With Ryan Eggold relegating Tom Keen to occasional visits to the NBC series in favor of "The Blacklist: Redemption" will Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) figure in the life of Liz Keen in S4?

Carter Matt cites "The Blacklist" Season 4 synopsis released by NBC in relating that a determined Raymond Reddington will rescue Liz Keen from Alexander Kirk aka Constantin Rostov (Ulrich Thomsen). The reunion between Raymond Reddington and Liz Keen in "The Blacklist" Season 4 will inevitably be tense after the fake death caper at S3.

"The Blacklist" Season 4 synopsis also points to the Post Office Task Force Samar Navabi (Mozhan Marnò), Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff), Aram Mojtabai (Amir Arison) and Harold Cooper (Harry Lennix) having to deal with the reality that Liz Keen betrayed them. Granted escape from Raymond Reddington and safety for Agnes were foremost for Liz Keen in faking her death.

However, the Post Office Task Force was unwittingly drawn by Liz Keen into the drama of her absence and death in "The Blacklist" Season 3. Now with her abduction, the Post Office Task Force is expected to join Raymond Reddington in the hunt for Liz Keen and Alexander Kirk.

Executive producer and creator Jon Bokenkamp revealed to The Wall Street Journal that the dynamics in "The Blacklist" Season 4 will be as much about  Raymond Reddington and Liz Keen as about the Post Office Task Force characters. One wonders if "The Blacklist" Season 4 will make room for a future between Donald Ressler and Liz Keen with Tom easing out of the series.

Zap2It cites Jon Bokenkamp in clarifying that Ryan Eggold will not be jumping into "The Blacklist: Redemption" just yet and will have a few more episodes to tie up loose ends with Liz Keen, Agnes and Raymond Reddington in S4. A post by Megan Boone on social media seems to indicate that Liz Keen and Donald Ressler will jump right back into their old partnership in "The Blacklist" Season 4.

For the time being, Raymond Reddington, Liz Keen and the Post Office Task Force have Alexander Kirk to contend with and determine if Constantin Rostov is on their side when "The Blacklist" returns. Deadline reports that Leon Rippy also joins "The Blacklist" cast as Hunter who, like Alexander Kirk, may be friend or peril for Raymond Reddington, Liz Keen and the Post Office team.
