‘South Park’ Season 20 Episode 1 [SPOILERS]: Pilot Episode To Feature National Anthem Reboot? Garrison Remains On Campaign Trail In ‘Member Berries’

Good news, avid "South Park" fans! The global pop culture phenomenon and Comedy Central's hit adult-animated series is finally back on television this Wednesday and latest spoiler reports are hinting some interesting events happening in "South Park" season 20 episode 1.

For almost two decades, "South Park" has maintained its popularity and relevance through its political satires. As the United States deals with the issues connected to the upcoming 2016 U.S. Presidential elections, Screen Crush revealed that "South Park" season 20 episode 1 will kick off with Garrison, who remains on the aftermath of the campaign period.

Even though "South Park" season 20 creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone previously stressed that the latest season of the series won't be focusing more on the issues surrounding the election season, the pilot episode will still tackle the elections with Garrison as the presidential nominee. In addition, "South Park" season 20 episode 1 will also deal with the National Anthem controversy.

As a matter of fact, Comedy Central reportedly revealed through a press release that "South Park" season 20 episode 1 titled, "Member Berries," will feature a National Anthem reboot. In addition, TVLine hinted the possibility that Caitlyn Jenner may remain by Garrison's side as he continues his pursuit to be the nation's next president.

Meanwhile, "South Park" season 20 is reportedly getting a major structural change. As Parent Herald previously reported, the shift, which has started in the previous season, will follow the plotlines through the entire season instead of a reset for each episode.

As for the Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton's appearance in "South Park" season 20, series creator Trey Parker admitted that they never intend to feature Trump as a character. Hence, his presence in "South Park" season 20 episode 1 was deemed unnecessary.

Following a nine-month hiatus, "South Park" season 20 episode 1 will premiere on Comedy Central at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14. As for the upcoming video game of the longest running scripted series in cable primetime history titled, "South Park: The Fractured But Whole," Christian Post revealed it is scheduled for release on Dec. 6 in Xbox One, PS4 and PC platforms.
