'The Last of Us 2' Confirmed Release Date Rumors Intensifies as Neil Druckmann Allegedly Divulged More Sequel Info

Fans are still clamoring for more "The Last of Us 2" release date updates. While the online community has yet to determine whether the sequel will really be confirmed, several pieces of evidence about its existence have surfaced online.

Just recently, hope sparked anew when "The Last of Us 2" release date rumors claimed that a canceled cover story for Neil Druckmann and TLOU 2 was supposed to be released in a still unidentified magazine. As Gamepur noted, the alleged story that was intended for the E3 2016 was not published.

The site further added that the supposed article talked about the gameplay of "The Last of Us 2" which will reportedly feature Joel and Ellie's return. The sequel is rumored to be set five years after the events of the first game.

Naughty Dog has yet to confirm whether the alleged cover story is in fact real or just another fan-made "The Last of Us 2" release date update. As Gamereactor claimed, they are still trying to validate the authenticity of the TLOU 2 article that recently surfaced.

Meanwhile, Gamespot recently reported that the talent who lent her voice to Ellie has been very open to say that she is very much interested in doing the sequel should it be green lit. Ashley Johnson claimed that she would be totally on board "The Last of Us 2," should developers decide to have a new plot for Ellie and Joel.
