"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 reunion for Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) continues to be a bone of contention as far as news go. Although The CW and executive producer Julie Plec have plans should a deal with Nina Dobrev on reprising Elena Gilbert falls through, a final reunion with Damon Salvatore (before "The Vampire Diaries" series is put to rest) would have been a fitting send off.

IMDb confirmed that Nina Dobrev will indeed be teaming up once more with Ian Somerhalder in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. As Julie Plec had planned, Nina Dobrev will be back for a single "TVD" episode in S8, tying the story up with Ian Somerhalder in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 finale.

Celeb Dirty Laundry, however, reports that returning for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 had been a hesitant move for Nina Dobrev because of Ian Somerhalder. The media outlet proposes that Ian Somerhalder had been purposely insulting toward Nina Dobrev while the latter was still in "The Vampire Diaries" series.

Specifically, the media outlet highlights that Ian Somerhalder made an unflattering comment about his intimate scenes with Nina Dobrev. According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, this may be a major reason why Nina Dobrev had not been gung-ho about reuniting with Ian Somerhalder for the end of "The Vampire Diaries."

Interestingly, Nina Dobrev did not seem to have a problem about getting criticized over her love scenes with Ian Somerhalder in "The Vampire Diaries." The Gamer's Drop cites an earlier story where Nina Dobrev revealed that her own mom had the weird habit of giving her love scene tips before and after her takes with Ian Somerhalder while she was still in "The Vampire Diaries" series.

Perhaps these are moot conjectures as Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder are only laying eyes on each other in the very last episode of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 and of the "TVD" series altogether.
