‘Wayward Pines’ Season 3 Air Date, News Update: Abbies Take Over Brutal S3? Fox Series Fans Should Not Get Attached To Characters?

"Wayward Pines" Season 3 renewal from Fox may be pending but Abbies are set to give humans a brutal S3. So much so that fans of the Fox series should not get attached to new and returning characters in Season 3 of the series based on Blake Crouch's trilogy "Wayward Pines."

"Wayward Pines" Season 2 had been much of a reboot of S1, in a sense. However, "Wayward Pines" star Jason Patric (Dr. Theo Yedlin) explained to E! News that Season 2 highlights the characters. Whereas, according to Jason Patric, "Wayward Pines" Season 1 had been about the secret of the mysterious town, S2 focused on the people who lived in it and the Abbies growing more intelligent outside of it.

"Wayward Pines" Season 1 introduced the town and its secrets with lead character Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon). The motives of "Wayward Pines" founder David Pilcher (Toby Jones) and sister Pam (Melissa Leo) were perfectly encapsulated by the adaptation of "Stranger Things" creators Ross and Matt Duffer on Blake Crouch's original material.

"Wayward Pines" Season 2 continued the narrative through Theo Yedlin and S2 cast asking if mankind would wither and die or keep surviving after an apocalypse? "Wayward Pines" Season 2 also highlighted through the adventures and tribulations of Theo Yedlin and the Fox series cast that Abbies are evolved humans and are not without intelligence.

Although S2 ended with the Abbies having the upper hand, "Wayward Pines" Season 3 will give Theo Yedlin, CJ Mitchum (Djimon Hounsou) and the other remaining humans one more chance at survival. One wonders if in the time that Theo Yedlin and the other humans that CJ Mitchum put under cryostasis were asleep, the Abbies could have finally breached "Wayward Pines."

Parent Herald cites that "Wayward Pines" Season 3 will bring humans a new form of enemy from evolved Abbies. If S2 is anything to go by, "Wayward Pines" Season 3 will be more brutal than S1 or S2 and human characters would be dropping like flies in the face of the new threat.

As Jason Patric warned fans of the Fox series about S2, viewers should not get attached to the characters in "Wayward Pines" Season 3. Chances are not many of the "Wayward Pines" Season 3 human characters will be around too long.

Pending Fox confirmation of a new contract, an approved "Wayward Pines" Season 3 is likely to air in the second quarter of 2017. Hopefully, "Wayward Pines" Season 3 would bring as strong a cast as S1.
