'Pokemon Go' News And Updates: Details About Possible Player-Vs-Player Battle System Teased; App No Longer On Top, Dethroned By 'Clash Royale'

New details about the possible player-versus-player battle system in "Pokemon Go" has been teased. It has also been reported that "Pokemon Go" is no longer the top app as it was reportedly dethroned by the new game, "Clash Royale."

"Pokemon Go" recently added the new update called "buddy system," which lets players go monster-hunting while being accompanied by one of the Pokemon monsters that the players have in their inventory. However, that might not be the only update that "Pokemon Go" players will see in the coming weeks as it is believed that Niantic Labs is working on a player-versus-player battle system.

In a recent interview with Pokemon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara that Niantic Labs is taking their time in rolling out new features for the game so as not to overwhelm new players and attract more players. In the interview, Ishihara said at one point that battling is a category that Pokemon does best. He hinted, "It's important to really carefully consider any feature that may increase the difficulty and raise the barrier to entry for more casual users."

Game Spot reported that months ago, Niantic Labs CEO John Hanke confirmed that a trading system was on the way in "Pokemon Go." However, details about the matter was not expanded by Hanke.

Aside from Hanke and Ishihara's comments, Niantic's Archit Bhargava also said that the multiplayer aspect is something they are exploring but they are still figuring out how to incorporate it on "Pokemon Go."

As for "Pokemon Go" no longer the top app, CNET reported that it has been overthrown by the game "Clash Royale." "Pokemon Go" was launched in July and reached over 500 million downloads. However, the number of people downloading the app has slowed down in the past couple of weeks.

"Clash Royale" is a strategy game and a research group called Sensor Tower said that an updated on the game, which has been out earlier this year, was the reason behind the many players downloading it.
