'Homeland' News & Updates: Series to End After 8 Seasons

"Homeland" is going through a rough patch as one of the actors, Rupert Friend, got injured during the filming of the series' 6th season. As the storyline progressed, however, it was eventually revealed that "Homeland" will eventually bid their viewers goodbye as the season will finally end by season 8.

"Homeland" is set to make a comeback for its 6th season by 2017. "Homeland" started with a heart throbbing premiere, as it was action packed. The series revolved around Carrie Mathison and Sgt. Adam Broody as their story was followed by thousands of viewers. As the series progress, their story eventually progressed into a love-story.

Carrie and Brody's romance was not given a chance to blossom as Damian Lewis (Broody) departed from the series during its 3rd season. The series eventually turned into a spy-centered storyline after his departure. "Homeland" managed to make a quick shift in terms of the flow of their storyline as the show runners can easily divert the fans attention to the Carrie-Brody romance, to the possibilities of a Carrie and Quinn relationship.

Now on its 6th season, "Homeland" will soon to come to an end. As the season continually progress, only Cattie Mathison and Saul Berenson's story will be featured on most episodes. The show's executive producer, Alex Gansa, then told Deadline that the series will potentially come to an end by its 8th season.

"Homeland" was already confirmed for renewal by Showtime, the Emmy-winning series which would make a comeback by next year is prepared for the upcoming seasons. Screen Rant then explained that the final season announcement came from Alex Gansa and not Showtime, thus it is not yet official.

As it was announced that series is bound to end in the near future, fans are left to wonder as to what could possibly happen to Carrie. For more updates on Showtime's "Homeland," make sure to follow Parent Herald.
