'Blindspot' Season 2 Spoilers & News: Shepherd Tests Jane, Luke Mitchell Teases 'Things Are Heating Up'

Jane will have to pick between her family and the FBI sometime on "Blindspot," but it is apparently happening sooner than expected. In "Blindspot" Season 2 Episode 3 "Hero Fears Imminent Rot," which airs on Wednesday, Sept. 28 on NBC, Jane will be forced to pick a side as her loyalty is tested.

As the show has revealed in the first episode of "Blindspot" in the previous weeks, Jane is Remi to her family. This is the group behind Sandstorm, which the NSA has been tracking down with the help of the FBI. The revelation still has Jane shaken up as she tries to work both sides. "Things are heating up in terms of the stakes, the family dynamic and trying to get Remi back, essentially," Luke Mitchell, who plays Jane's brother Roman, told TV Guide.

Jane also met her adoptive mother, Shepherd (Michelle Hurd), who is still wary about trusting Jane because of her ties with the FBI. The upcoming third episode of "Blindspot" will be a test. Jane is supposed to assassinate someone, but the test is not solely about her. "It's about Roman really impressing upon Jane the importance of Jane finding her way back," Luke Mitchell added.

The actor also told TV Line that Shepherd on "Blindspot" is definitely not your typical mother. Though she took Roman and Remi in as abandoned kids, she trained the orphans to become warriors. They don't even address her as "mom."

Meanwhile, "Blindspot" Season 2 Episode 3 will also have Jane helping Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and his team as bombings threaten New York City. Weller will task Jane to go undercover. But is the person she is supposed to assassinate among her FBI team mates or someone tied to her friends? Which side will Jane pick?

"Blindspot" Season 2 Episode 3 will air on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 8:00 p.m. on NBC. Watch the teaser to the episode in the video below.
