'Westworld' Season 1 Spoilers & News: What's Going On With Dolores? What Is Ed Harris' Character's End Game?

"Westworld," HBO's newest TV show addiction, kicked off to good ratings on Sunday, Oct. 2. The Western sci-fi series, which is based off Michael Crichton's novel, introduced a rather intriguing concept about a theme park that relies on robots or androids with artificial intelligence (AI) as the hosts from which park guests can live off their fantasies.

The central character to "Westworld," Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood), is said to be the oldest synthetic human in the park that has been operating for over three decades. But as the first episode has shown, something seems to be wrong with the androids, including Dolores. What could be causing their malfunction and what can viewers expect in "Westworld's" second episode?

In "Westworld" Season 1 Episode 2, entitled "Chestnut," park engineer Bernard (Jeffrey Wright) and his boss Theresa Cullen (Sidse Babett Knudsen) will continue to argue about what has been happening with the hosts, per the official episode description, Comic Book reports. The park will welcome two guests who has different goals for playing off their fantasies.

Meanwhile, Dr. Robert Ford (Sir Anthony Hopkins) and Lee Sizemore (Simon Quarterman) will try to change the game's narrative to please the guests. It's unclear how this will affect the hosts, particularly Dolores.

All throughout the first episode of "Westworld" Season 1, it's been hinted that Dolores might have an inkling of what she's really made of. She could be starting to be more aware of her whole being. "If she is the oldest host in the park she would be the most advanced," "Westworld" star Evan Rachel Wood told Entertainment Weekly.

"Something is stirring within her," show co-creator Lisa Joy told The Hollywood Reporter. "It is not to be taken lightly," she added.

Viewers should also take note of the still unnamed mysterious character in black on "Westworld," who is played by Ed Harris. He's a theme park guest who has been coming back to play the game over and over because he has an ultimate goal. "What it is he's looking for, and why it holds personal meaning to him, is something we're going to explore over the course of the series," revealed Joy.

In the second episode of "Westworld," which airs Sunday, Oct. 9, the man in black will meet Lawrence, the AI that should help him advance into the game and discover its "deepest secrets." Check out the teaser to "Westworld" Season 1 Episode 2 below.
