Special Needs Teacher Celebrates Wedding Day With Students With Down Syndrome As Flower Girls, Ring Bearers [PHOTO]

A Louisville special education teacher has made her students a part of the most important day of her life -- her wedding. Kinsey French, who teaches eight kids with Down syndrome at the Christian Academy's Providence School, has included the children as her flower girls and ring bearers. The wedding ceremony was so beautiful that it left wedding guests misty-eyed.

WLKY reports that Kinsey French specifically wanted her students to be part of her wedding because she treats them as family. The kids are known to spend a lot of time with their teacher as they undergo speech and occupational therapy. "They were my first class and they've been my only class and so I knew I couldn't have a special day without them," the bride said.

On the day of the wedding, the special needs kids not only walked the aisle with their teacher. They also had a great time dancing to "Whip and Nae-Nae" at the reception and commended the wedding dinner's delicious mashed potatoes.

Kinsey French is grateful that she and the children will share these memories. "It was really special for [husband] Josh and myself just to have them a part of the day, and have them come with us and celebrate with us," she told the press. When Josh proposed to Kinsey, the children were also there as witnesses.

Kinsey French is actually a graduate of the Christian Academy's Providence School, along with her husband, according to the school's official Facebook page. Their wedding has received so much love and support from the community, more so because of the addition of the special needs kids in the entourage.

Being a special needs teacher requires utmost dedication and great interpersonal skills because it is important to build trust and respect. The photos from Kinsey French's wedding has shown just how special their relationship is and it's also evident that trust and respect is mutual.
