‘The Flash’ Season 3 Spoilers: ‘Flashpoint’ Backlashes; The Rival Is Back With Dr. Alchemy?

"The Flash" Season 3 Episode 2 will see Barry Allen learn the repercussions of disrupting Earth's timeline. Little he knows that by staying in "Flashpoint," he will apparently create a new villain who will be the next big threat to Central City.

The next episode of "The Flash" Season 3 is speculated to introduce Dr. Alchemy, a villain known as a chemist who creates elemental weapons. Dr. Alchemy is one of the villains suggested to appear on "The Flash" Season 3 as a product of "Flashpoint."

"The Flash" Executive Producer Aaron Helbing already revealed that the reason why there is a Dr. Alchemy in the show is because of the impact and decisions made in "Flashpoint," Heroic Hollywood reported. Apart from Dr. Alchemy, it is also suggested that Dr. Edward Clariss, the same person as The Rival in "Flashpoint," will become a villain in Barry's current timeline.

What's interesting is according to Helbing, Dr. Clariss has a memory of the events in "Flashpoint." If Dr. Clariss remembers everything, it is possible for him to remember that it is "The Flash" who defeated him in "Flashpoint." However, it is not revealed whether Dr. Clariss is still The Rival in the present timeline, but if he is, then "The Flash" is in for a big fight once again.

Additionally, the end credits of "The Flash" Season 3 Episode 1 saw Dr. Clariss being awakened by a voice as someone scribbles "Alchemy" on the mirror, Entertainment Weekly reported. The scene suggests that Dr. Alchemy is calling on Dr. Clariss which hints that an alliance may be formed between the two. If he is not The Rival in the current timeline, Dr. Alchemy, being a chemist, may be able to help him become The Rival again. Will Dr. Clariss team up with Dr. Alchemy to defeat "The Flash?"

"The Flash" Season 3 Episode 2 is titled "Paradox." The show airs every Tuesday at 8/7c on CW.
