F1 News and Update: Lewis Hamilton Denies Being Disrespectful After The Controversial Snapchat Incident

F1 driver Lewis Hamilton was placed under fire after he allegedly disrespected the media. Hamilton, however, denied the said accusation wherein he took the initiative to defend himself on the heated issue.

Lewis Hamilton was slammed as it was previously reported that he badly misbehaved during the FIA press. Kevin Eason of "The Times" reportedly stated that the F1 world champion was busy playing with his phone and he was preoccupied with Snapchat which made it seem like his bored.

F1 Fansite revealed that Kevin Eason stated that the F1 driver managed to capture the attention of the FIA senior officials. Though Hamilton's acts may seem rude, he, however, took on Twitter to explain that what it was just for fun. He stated that he did not mean to be disrespectful.

Lewis Hamilton built his name through F1 and it was speculated that his Snapchat incident is just one of this tricks to divert the attention from the Mercedes campaign scandal. Though the Mercedes advertisement issue became an instant hit, another F1 driver, Marc Surer defended his fellow F1 driver stating that Lewis Hamilton does not have anything to do with the brand advertisement.

"No, the worst possible advertising for Mercedes is a broken engine. Hamilton was world champion for the past two years," Marc Surer said during an interview. "Which of course involves a lot of luck. So he also needs to accept bad luck."

This isn't the first time that Lewis Hamilton made a controversial move as he was also slammed in 2015 after spraying a Chinese GP with champagne. According to SkySports, Lewis Hamilton was snapped spraying a bottle of Champaign to a 23-year-old Liu Siying. The incident gathered backlash as she was slammed by anti-sexism group stating that what he did was inconsiderate.

After the report made rounds, Lewis Hamilton managed to clear his name after satiating that he was only having fun. He then cleared out that his actions were just a result of his excitement after winning.
