‘Lucifer Season 2 Spoilers, News & Updates: Mommy Morningstar Back As Charlotte Richards, Amenadiel Faces Mortality In “Sin-Eater”

"Lucifer" season 2 will air its episode 3 really soon, with the main story dealing with Lucifer and Chloe pursuing a social media-inclined serial killer. Meanwhile, "Lucifer" season 2 episode 3 "Sin-Eater" will also touch on Amenadiel's (D.B. Woodside) deteriorating powers alongside Mommy Morningstar coming into her own mortal identity as Charlotte Richards (Tricia Helfer).

Spoiler TV shared the plot synopsis of "Lucifer" season 2 episode 3; showing what will happen in the episode titled "Sin-Eater." "Lucifer" season 2 episode 3 will have Chloe (Lauren German) and Lucifer (Tom Ellis) investigate a murder which recorded then shown online, realizing that their suspect might very well be a serial killer and possibly even the titular "Sin-Eater" based on the term's origin.

"Lucifer" season 2 episode 3's title, "Sin-Eater," references the mythological figure who partakes in a ritualistic meal that magically or metaphorically eat the sins of someone, thereby absolving them of wrongdoings, with the concept possibly connected to the episode's case as it involves a serial killer. As shown in the promotional teaser for "Lucifer" season 2 episode 3 shared by Light TV Promo, the serial killer in "Sin-Eater" straps victims in a crucified-like position and sticks an apple in their mouths.

Aside from the likely titular "Sin-Eater," the other main plot threads that will be touched on in "Lucifer" season 2 episode 3 will be Amenadiel's decreasing powers and Mommy Morningstar's continued integration into the mortal world. "Lucifer" season 2 episode 3 "Sin-Eater" will have Amenadiel reach out to Dr. Linda Martin (Rachael Harris) to try and deal with him possibly losing his powers, which is complicated by the strained relationship between the two.

"Lucifer" season 2 episode 3 "Sin-Eater" will also show Mommy Morningstar as seemingly better able to handle her life stuck in a mortal shell, this time apparently embracing her new life as the successful law firm owner Charlotte Richards. How her host's past will catch up to her is unknown, considering Charlotte Richards was also an FBI informant in addition to being a successful lawyer, but these will likely be touched upon in "Lucifer" season 2 episode 3 "Sin-Eater."
