‘Gotham’ Season 3 Spoilers, News & Updates: Gordon Seeks Help Resisting The Mad Hatter In ‘New Day Rising’

"Gotham" season 3 episode 4 is looking to have Gordon (Ben McKenzie) try to pre-empt future encounters with the Mad Hatter (Benedict Samuel), who has proven in the previous episode that he can force Gordon to the edge of suicide, with "New Day Rising" also furthering Penguin's (Robin Lord Taylor) plans for mayor.

Titled "New Day Rising," Gotham season 3 episode 4 will have Gordon bring in Alice Tetch (Naian Gonzales Norvind) to the GCPD for another Indian Hill escapee bounty according to Spoiler TV. Viewers will remember how Gordon felt the full force of the Mad Hatter's hypnotic powers in the previous "Gotham season 3" episode before "New Day Rising," with Alice's timely arrival being the only one that saved him only for Gordon to reward her help by cuffing her and getting ready to bring her in.

According to the "Gotham" season 3 episode 4 promotional teaser shared by Television Promos on YouTube, "New Day Rising" will once again have another encounter between Gordon and the Mad Hatter. Presumably recalling how their previous confrontation went with the Mad Hatter almost forcing him to jump off a ledge, Gordon might have to turn to asking Alice for help in resisting the Mad Hatter in "Gotham" season 3 episode 4 "New Day Rising."

"Gotham" season 3 episode 4 will also continue the storyline of Penguin's attempts at campaigning for mayor of Gotham city, with "New Day Rising" showing how he will bring his closest ally Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) into his plans. Photographs of "Gotham" season 3 episode 4 shared by Comic Book show Nygma all fixed up in a suit, standing in what seems to be a campaign rally for Penguin in "New Day Rising."

Yet it seems that not everything is as dandy as Nygma's suit in his efforts to join Penguin's campaign in "Gotham" season 3 episode 4 as the "New Day Rising" trailer showed Penguin's number two-man Butch (Drew Powerll) pointing a gun at Nygma's head. The sequence shows that there might be more to Butch's part in Penguin's mayoral campaign, which could probably be touched on in "Gotham" season 3 episode 4 "New Day Rising."
